For mine owners

One code for your mine.

Your MUCC code is your mine’s identity with ASMRAF. It’s free, it stays with your mine, and its status shows whether ASMRAF verification is still pending or complete. A provisional code is not proof of checks.

What the code looks like: MUCC-2026-000144. That’s MUCC, the year you registered, and your mine’s own number. It’s yours from the day you register and never changes: it starts as Provisional and becomes Certified once your mine passes its checks.

MUCC-2026-000144 ProvisionalCertified

Provisional, then Certified

  • Provisional

Provisional MUCC code: generated when you submit the registration form. It holds your place, and it can’t be used to sell yet.

  • Certified

Certified MUCC code and certificate: the same code becomes Certified once your mine meets the onboarding requirements, after a site visit and checks. We keep checking while it’s Certified, and may visit again. The decision record must state its review date and any conditions. The renewal schedule still needs formal adoption.

  • Suspended

Suspended: if something needs fixing. We always tell you why, and how to appeal.

How your mine gets verified

  1. Generate your Provisional MUCC code.

  2. Provide the legal permissions for your actual activities through the secure route ASMRAF specifies. Do not email identity documents.

  3. We check your documents.

  4. An ASMRAF assessor visits your mine. We send you their name and photo first.

  5. Remediable gaps need a corrective action plan. Serious abuse or unsafe conditions may prevent or suspend verification.

  6. If your mine meets the requirements, ASMRAF records the decision and makes your code Certified. Timing depends on the checks and findings.

What we check, and why

We check that your mine holds the legal permissions required for its actual activities and that you’re entitled to work it; who owns it and where it is; that there’s no child labour and nobody is forced to work; that safety gear is used; and that waste is handled safely. Approved buyers need to know these things before they can buy your minerals.

When you sell

  1. Agree a sale with an ASMRAF-approved buyer, through an approved provider such as MinePay.

  2. Deliver your minerals.

  3. Final assay. An assay measures exactly how much of the mineral or metal your parcel contains.

  4. Get paid through the payment provider used for your sale, on the agreed terms. MinePay supplies technology and records.

Every sale through an approved provider is recorded against your MUCC code. ASMRAF doesn’t buy minerals or handle payments.

Who can see your code

ASMRAF staff, the independent auditors who check our work, the approved provider handling your sale, and the buyer you sell to, who must keep it private. Nobody else can look your code up, and we never publish your name or where your mine is.

Keep your code safe

Your code is not a password. Nobody can use it to change your payment details or take your money. If anyone asks you for money to activate, speed up or upgrade your code, it’s a scam: see how to report it.
